Mission StatementHarrisville Elementary School will foster high quality learning for all students by developing the academic and intellectual skills and character necessary to prepare students for life-long learning, productive and responsible citizenship, healthy living, and success in a diverse society. Through the proper utilization of all our resources, this school will continue to show progress. With an emphasis on the basic subject areas we are developing and building foundation. All of our students are capable of learning. Effective personnel will insure that leadership, evaluation, monitoring, academics and appropriate climate are stressed because of their importance to the success of our school. The school personnel will not forget that we are dealing with many students who have similar likes and dislikes. However, there are those who require individual attention. Whenever appropriate, the school will make sure that these students are accounted for. Since all learning is based on the foundation of previous learning, the school will continuously monitor each student’s progress and make changes as necessary. We want to see that each and every five year old that enters Harrisville Elementary leaves at the end of fifth grade with the necessary tools to be a success in later school years and life. Vision Statement“Education Builds Our Future” is our motto at Harrisville Elementary School. We take pride in the fact that quality and equity in education is provided for all students. Goals1. Harrisville Elementary students will score at Mastery level on the WESTEST achievement tests. 2. All students will have equal educational opportunities and be academically and socially prepared for middle school at the end of the fifth grade. 3. Low achieving students in grades 1 through 5 will be provided remediation in the areas of reading, written language, and mathematics. 4. School personnel will continue to improve skills and knowledge necessary to succeed as teachers in our constantly changing society. 5. Parent involvement and community support for the school will continue to grow. 6. School personnel will continue to promote healthy lifestyles. 7. Harrisville Elementary will strive to make improvements in playground and safety per requirement of State Board of Risks. 8. Continue to make improvement in school landscaping, buildings, and grounds.
